Welcome to TUBclub! / 2019 Topics
« Last post by YaBoyChili on January 31, 2019, 04:06:09 pm »
Here is the proposed topic calendar for the rest of 2019! For the sake of simplicity I went ahead and filled in all the months for this year, and then if we are still going strong in 2020 we can start passing around the “topic-picker” hat. You might notice that some of the topics are genres, while others are just keywords; feel free to interpret a keyword however it strikes your fancy! If anyone has any questions or suggestions, leave them in this thread!

And no without further ado...

*drumroll*

January - anything goes
February - a biography
March - “wild”
April - TUB member pick
May - a classic
June - “journey”
July - anything goes
August - TUB member pick
September - “stars”
October - anything goes
November - a book to movie
December - TUB member pick

Woohoo! Happy reading y’all!!

Yes! TUBclub! "The Unfettered Bibliophiles" is a book club for those of us that don't like being told what to read! How does such a book club operate? Glad you asked:

As a member you are required to read at least one book every month.

Some months may have thematic or genre-related guidelines, but ultimately the choice of book is completely up to you.

After completing the reading, post here under the corresponding month's forum board. Do so by clicking on the board and creating a new topic.

In your post, give your fellow group members a brief synopsis of the book you chose, and tell them what you liked or disliked about it. If you're feeling particularly spicy in any given month, maybe make a video and post a YouTube link instead!

As other members make their monthly posts, feel free to leave comments or ask questions by opening their topic and clicking reply.

And here's the kicker... Every fourth month (that's three times a year for you mathematically challenged folks (this is book--not math--club after all)), the reading you choose must be one of the books another member read and presented in a previous month! Then in your forum post you get to share your thoughts and reviews compared to those of the original reader! FUN!

So if you have any questions or comments feel free to message me (here on the forum if you want to feel fancy, or, you know, in real life on my phone works too), but otherwise thanks for joining and happy reading ya nerds!

P.S. I'm having a blast with all this html because it reminds me of the good ol' MySpace days--I even custom-coded this color to match the headers of the page haha!
